Sorry to get weirdly serious on a shitpost, but I don't know if a concept does cease to exist just because you're currently not thinking about it.
That's partly the theme of the novel The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, which argues--in quite a lovely way--that ideas have a life of their own. No one remembers Addie, and yet she still leaves marks on the world.
Anyway, have an upvote cause Ralph made me laugh, then overthink.
By the logic of this post, yes they would. By the logic of my comment...no? I'm honestly not sure, but I feel like they would live on in some capacity by the marks they/their former followers have made on the world. History was shaped by lots of humans that are dead now.
Wow wasn't expecting to see an Addie LaRue reference today! Who's to say that the thought of "Ralph" doesn't trigger thoughts or feelings in an individual that affects them later on today, later on this week, etc. I agree it's a beautiful sentiment.
P.S. That's probably my favorite book I've read in the last few years.
