Blind hatred for a large group of people isn't "doing something"
I support Ukraine 100% and also recognize that we still all have to live on the same planet when this is over. Not all Russians are bad, a bunch of them are fighting on Ukraine's side.
I never advocated blind hatred. But I also don’t believe you can be a good person and stand by and allow this sort of tyranny to keep power. Those Russians fighting for Ukraine, would probably make a bigger impact if they remained in Russia and agitated instead. Putin has said, time and again, that he wants to wipe out Ukrainian people and culture. Russia is committing a genocide before the world’s eyes.
I’m not arguing all Russians are bad people either. I just don’t think you can be a good person in that situation while doing nothing.
Wishing death upon young forced recruits who know their family will suffer, be killed, or worse if they don't go along is disgusting.
Fuck Putin for putting innocent people into this position but that's what a large portion of the soldiers are. Innocent.
I celebrate when the enemy dies, and we are closer to the end, but I recognize it is not their fault. I don't celebrate their death I celebrate progress towards peace.
They did not start this war, they didn't choose to fight, and if they tried to rise up they and their family would be shot. When you see that happen continually through your life in order to protect the ones you love you'd likely do the same. It's easy to say this when you've never had to make that choice and if you did in the same circumstance, you wouldn't be here to make that comment
You stand on your high horse in comfort not knowing the horrors they face celebrating their death because they didn't topple a government.
Slava Ukrani. The sooner they win, the sooner both Ukrainian and russian people can be safe, and free
