Game director for Metro Awakening, Martin de Ronde discusses the hate train surrounding new VR games based on existing IP.
I’m still not sure why there’s a trend of scaling down the experience. Half-Life: Alyx felt shorter than a Half-Life game, and had MUCH fewer weapons.
At best, these games are slightly extensive tech demos.
"Metro dev sad his game isn't sell enough" I'm okay missing a few gems if the price of entry is a thousand dollars if I want to avoid meta spyware.
Valve have something up their sleeves to contend with Quest.
