As a consequence, [email protected] mods got a lot of resentment from people wanting to discuss the elections on that community, when they decided to temporarily ban the topic as well: https://lemmy.world/post/21696356
I'm not sure what the issue is - Ask Lemmy doesn't seem like a suitable place for political discussion, especially as there is a community just for that purpose.
I don't see it either, but some users literally called the rule "censorship"
These people really make the liberal left look bad. And the claim is always that we're level headed :/
The politics community always had those rules though.
The rule on asklemmy is weird though. I was surprised to see it.
"We've always done it this way" is obviously a super thoughtful response which completely justifies this and any other situation where it can be stated.
