I really enjoyed it. The new characters are fun and interesting, and it ties directly into Z. I love that they are finally going to Demon World. I always wondered why they never explored it. I don't mind too much that they are kids. Maybe it will give it a little bit of a Dragon Ball feel
My only gripe, and I might be mistaken as it has been a while since I read the manga, is that they retconned (or unretconned?) the Potara ear rings again. If I am not mistaken it was stated in Super that it was only permanent for Kais. Vegito had something like a 10 minute time limit due to Blue using so much power. I thought I remembered Kibito Kai getting separated (by a witch maybe? I'm a lot more fuzzy on this one)
[SPOILER TERRITORY]
spoiler
Are we finally getting some info on Mr. Popo? This revelation of pointy ears being attributed to demon realm is quite interesting. Namekians, Kais, and Popo all originating from there. Do you think this will have any larger implications?
I like the parallels as well. Supreme Kai's sister is the Demon World's Bulma. Neva is Demon Kami. Do you think there will be more of these? :::
[END SPOILERS]
Overall I thought it was a good time, and I can't wait for next week
I will try. They don't work on Boost so I won't be able to tell if it works. Thank you for the tip!
Edit: Sorry, I'm gonna need that explained better. Do I include the text immediately after spoiler spoiler? Do I need to do it for each line break? Do I need to close it, and if so, how?
I was kinda surprised they started after Z yet again. And, once again, with their own canon (see the potaras or the demon ear thing). However, I actually neither liked GT nor Super so maybe the third time's the charm?
De-aging them all would be a great chance to finally shine some light on Trunks and Goten - or so I thought. Apparently, they're babies now. Bummer.
The premise kind of makes no sense at all. While Goku might be a child again, I don't think he's back at his original power level - making the whole thing kinda pointless. Otherwise, there would be some wild differences in power between the main cast (admittedly, from this perspective they had to remove Trunks and Goten but like, Buu is still there).
Do we get child Roshi? His turtle? Baba? Dr. Briefs? Poppo? King Kai? Yemma? Shenron? Where is the line drawn?
Otherwise, the animation looks great and the demon realm has potential. I'm curious where this is going, but the very next episode could create a lot of problems, depending on how they handle the de-aging.
I was also upset about the babies becoming literal babies. They have great bastard energy and it would have been fun to see them on the level of the others. Especially with fusion.
Here is my personal head canon. Gomah doesn't seem to know about Saiyans. If he had only observed Earthlings he would be right in assuming they are much weaker as children. Unfortunately for him this isn't the case with Saiyans. However, I do believe it will be a setback for them. I don't think their smaller bodies can contain the explosive levels of energy they reach in Super
It's a setback for sure. However, if they still have all their techniques, ki control, muscle memory and so on, they only lack in physical strength. Which should be the easiest one to train - like, just get a few zenkai boosts.
On another note, did Gomah watch the entire Buu arc or only the stuff that was shown to us? If he saw everything, he'd know about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, throwing a wrench into his plan. Depending on the cooldown between uses, they could be back to their original age in about a month to a year. Assuming they will still age.
Of course, I don't actually mind if none of these things are addressed, as long as the overall adventure is good. After all, if they want to recapture the original Dragon Ball, it's partly a comedy anime and Gomah doesn't seem to be particulary smart.
