The agency said Keurig, in its financial filings, had claimed its pods could be “effectively recycled” but didn’t note that two big recycling companies wouldn’t accept them.

This was for the period 2019–2020. They say that as of 2020, they are now actually recyclable. The SEC fined them because starting in 2019, they were already starting to market them as recyclable while major recycling companies weren’t ready to take them.
