Set a yearly reminder to apply for energy rebates
Things have been chaotic here.
I recently received an Outlook reminder I’d set… but it came after the applications closed. And I am straining my tired brain to remember if that was the closing date for the previous rebate or if I missed a new one. Or even missed the previous one!
However the reminder itself was very useful.
I’m planning to set another reminder for next year, this time for May or June.
What rebates are these?

- Shouldn't need to apply for this one, unless you are in an 'embedded network' (e.g. caravan park, retirement village, or shopping centre in the case of small businesses)
- NSW

- Must have a dependent child
- Seniors Energy Rebate - https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-for-the-seniors-energy-rebate
- Must hold a current Commonwealth Seniors Health Card

- Must hold a Pensioner Concession Card, Heath Care Card, Low Income Health Care Card or DVA Veteran Gold Card

There doesn’t seem to be a Family Energy Rebate for Victoria but there are (more?) solar rebates for apartment dwellers coming https://www.energy.gov.au/news-media/news/more-solar-rebates-victorian-apartment-residents
There’s conflicting info about Seniors discounts, DFFH saying seniors don’t get discounts and compare the market/Selectra saying they can.
(Don’t sleep on the medical cooling if you’re a pensioner. I know you can get that.)
