State health officials say a man in his 80s caught the mosquito-borne eastern equine encephalitis, the first human case found in Massachusetts since 2020. Officials announced Monday that they would spray pesticides in Worcester and Plymouth counties to address the elevated risk.

I douse myself with picardin when going in the woods. Stuff seems to work better than DEET, is commonly available and doesn't eat away at plastics.
