1 John 2:2 (KJV) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
This short verse gives us a lot to consider. Jesus Christ did not die for some sinners. Or for some sins, but not die for others. Jesus Christ died as a shed-blood sacrifice for all sin. That implication is problematic when wrapping our minds around it. Yes, it is difficult to understand that God sent His Only Son to die for the bank robber as well as the hard-working bank teller. Or the victim who gets their purse stolen, or the thief who runs away into the night.
Indeed, our thinking cannot override God’s goodness. If it could, we might be inclined to dish out the salvation message to some, but not all, folks. Our finite thinking allows for differences in people and degrees of sin, with some seen as big sins and others (ours) as minor sins. Yes, it is hard to point the finger at ourselves, but it is easy to wag our finger toward another’s sin.
Let this vital message seep into your mind and soul: God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for all sin, past, present, and future. God does not discriminate among sinners but wants to be the Savior of all humanity.
God also created Lucifer knowing that he was destined to fall into Hell and be Satan for all eternity. What a cruel thing to do to one of your children. Why would you worship a God who decides to torture his own creations in such a way?
Knowing all possibilities and making the choice for someone are two different things. Satan made his choice, he was free to not make that choice, just as we are free to not make his choice. Is freedom of choice (free will), and the sweet love experienced by those who make good choices, important enough to deal with the ones that make bad choices? It is clear that God thinks so. The most important and best choice you can make in this life, that God allowed you to have, is to chose God. If even one person made that choice, it would all be worth it to God (that's real love). Praise God that millions have made that choice, sadly billions more chose the evil, self serving, and loveless way as that wicked one did.
