I'm sure you've all seen some of the more playful user reviews on Steam, but they're not exactly helpful for figuring out if you want to buy a game and so Valve have a new Helpfulness System they're testing.
I'm totally for cleaning up the reviews and tags (if they're not cleaned up already).
Sure, meme/funny reviews can occasionally be helpful if you know what they're about, but in general they're just noise. And the "nobody will read this [confession here]" / "Pet the cat with thumbs up" / etc nonsense is just unnescessary clutter. Thank you Valve for finally adding filters for those.
That would be a very good thing. I don't even bother to read the reviews at this point. The average score is the only thing that offers an insight into how well received the game actually is.
Here’s my small issue with it. People should be allowed to like/dislike a game without adding a text. Text being mandatory kinda encourages bs reviews or no rating from some people.
