Ah yes when i go on holiday somewhere, first thing i do is go to a property owner and demand they raise the rent.
- What happens is that owners throw out renters to turn the flats into airbnb places. Fewer flats for locals means higher demand means higher prices.

- You stay in a location where locals could stay, if it weren’t more profitable to use it for short-term holiday stays though.
  
  But don't the locals - by definition - already own a place? Is a big percentage of people in these places renting?
