Raw dollars are nice to know and easy to recall, but percentage of the salary cap is the true indicator of a deal's value.

agreed, i always wondered why cap percentage isn’t mentioned more.
- I admittedly hadn’t really heard people talk about that perspective of it until listening to the Lowe Post a week or two ago when they discussed contracts and the new CBA. It does make a lot more sense and puts deals in a more understandable context rather than just “number big”
