Honestly I have no idea what they are thinking. Maybe trying to develop these guys and sell them off and compete in a few seasons?
Certainly seems they're trying to do an American sports model of farming young talent but since it's not a draft that's a lot of money to put up with no guarantee of being able to move them before the end of their contracts.
