Huh, interesting. I'm about halfway through the video and my reaction was that like the narrator says, this really does seem like a stereotypically American thing where everything just has to be absolutely ginormous for some reason
And here's the Half As Interesting video referenced in the bit about sirens.
In my town the fire department has blocked speed tables and raised crosswalks, even in the parks and on roads where people have been fatally hit by speeding cars, because they say it will slow them down if they have an emergency call. 😑
