Says the person who posted a deepfake of Harris bashing Biden, on his platform which is just as capable of election interference as Google if this screenshot were accurate (and it seemingly isn't).
Let's be honest, hiding information about Donald Trump would probably be a net benefit to Trump's campaign. If google actually wanted to hurt Trump they'd make the top results of every search a never ending stream of all of his legal issues, scandals, moral failings, insane statements, shady connections, and basically everything else that's awful about him. Definitely would want to include suggested search add ons like project 2025, and 25th amendment.
You're right, although technically this was just about the suggestions.
I reached pretty much the same conclusion, though: having "President Donald Trump" in suggestions like that is a gentle "don't forget to vote" reminder for the---maybe not swaying, but non-zero---community of people who commonly google fictional flightless avian presidents.
I'm afraid he's kind of going to be the next Trump.
Extremely famous, check. Perceived as competent (by uniformed and uninformable), check. Spineless? Check. Chronic liar? Check. Cult-like followers? Check. Completely isolated from reality? Check. Narcissistic, obsessed by his own ego and social media? Check.
I speculate this is one way to nullify these accusations towards him. Makes it look like people just go "no u" when they accuse musk for pandering to trump.
I tried that myself a couple of hours ago and saw it was missing in the autocomplete options, but now you type 'p' and he pops up.
Duckduckgo worked just fine
