Is there anyone in Japan today that was even alive during WWII? Let alone before?
Their leaders still revere the pieces of shit that committed some of the worst war crimes of WW2, they've never formally apologized, and learning about the events of WW2 in Japan is an optional, basically college level course, so very few people in Japan even know about the atrocities at all.
Japan of today is a far cry from the fascist nation they were in WWII, but they are the only country to never answer for those crimes.
Thats insane, here in Germany we spent a big chunk of our history lessons talking about what happened in Germany in WW2, we even visited a concentration camp.

It's kind of important to admit wrongdoing in the past.
