I'm a leftie and literally could not care less about Bill Maher. Yes, Trump-worshipping is dumb. Yes, Maher is an annoying self-important windbag. I can keep both of these thoughts in my head at the same time.
I could care less.
But that would mean having to look up who this guy is.
What is a "leftie".
I don't mean to call you out, but I'm very tired of " I'm on the left, I'm a progressive, I'm a left liberal".
Be brave enough to call yourself a communist/anarchist/socialist or just call yourself a Democrat.
Those are all very different things, hence why we have different words for the different concepts.

Not an anarchist/communist/socialist.
I don't call myself a democrat because my political alignment is based on values that are distinct from the democratic party we know.
I vote for democrats because achieving progress would be impossible in a fascist state.
Are you still a capitalist?
Ultimately, long-term, I'd like to see us evolve to a non-capitalist society, but that would be a long and gradual process. I doubt it will happen in my lifetime.
It needs to happen fast given pollution is directly tied to gdp growth. If it doesn't happen soon there won't be any human lifetimes for it to happen in.
