For ADHD medication, better ask a professional. Aside from Ritalin, there's others like Concerta too.
I use Ephedrine (Primatine, Bronkaid) for my ADHD and it works pretty well. Both are over the counter, just require an ID

Yeah, often one parent has some light symptoms already too. That was a blow for my dad back then.
