I don't have a tablet and colored this in Krita using the mouse after prepping the initial scanned sketch in GIMP.
That's cool, and I wouldn't have guessed that you'd coloured it using a mouse if you hadn't said so.
Krita is amazing! I got a drawing tablet early this year and I've been using Krita to draw. I can't believe it's free.
Yeah the mouse isn't as bad as people think, it just takes more time. Basically you use the stabilizer, use softer brushes, and slowly build it up layer by layer. Actual drawing with the mouse is plain impossible, and for that I would recommend doing vector art in Inkscape instead.
