why cant they like kill a tooth while its still in the jaw so it just gets weak and falls out?

i always wondered why instead of pulling a tooth they cant just kill it somehow than let it fall out naturally.

or why cant they some how soften the bone around a tooth so it comes out much easier than having to essentially break it loose to extract it
