[meta] Things I'm doing to build the community, and I'd love feedback!

I wanted to let the community know about a few things I've been doing that you might not be able to see:

  1. I went to some dead Pokémon and PokemonTCG magazines/communities and posted a link to this community on there. My thinking is if someone goes into that community and sees it's dead, they have a quick link to come here.

  2. I am cross posting my posts into other Pokémon subs, namely Pokémon (lemmy.ml), Pokemon Cards (lemmy.world) I can't find this one on Kbin and it's not too active anyway, and Pokémon (kbin.social).

I am also trying to post at least one new thing every day. So far, I've mostly been posting 151 card art (mostly the newest ones, and my favorites). I also have plenty of personal collection content I can post as well, if anyone is more interested in that.

I'd like to hear some feedback, especially if anyone is opposed to any of the actions I've taken.

  • I think it's a good idea! I got @pokemoncards to appear in kbin.social now too (can't see posts made before now though), so if you want to do any other crossposts there it should work now. I'd also recommend making posts advertising the magazine in @newcommunities and @MagHub to reach more people who might not have thought to search for a Pokemon TCG community yet.

    I'll try to post more of my own stuff here too!

  • I have no idea if the comment I made went through before or not, so I'm sorry ahead of time if this winds up being repetitive (last time I tried responding to this post, the comment almost seemed to go to the nether? I don't know what happened...)

    Anyway, I wanted to mention that I think all of this is fantastic and that I appreciate it! I honestly didn't even think of crossposting things to other communities ^^' I also wanted to say that I encourage folks to post about collections if they want and that 'collecting' has anything to do with stuff relating to the TCG. Things like ETBs, booster boxes, premium collections, etc. If it's relevant to the hobby, I say go for it! Showcasing cards that are in upcoming sets or that you just find neat completely works, too! (I know I've done my share with that lol)

    Also, I'll go ahead and post the magazine in those community sharing spaces c:

    I do want to also mention that if you have suggestions or ideas for questions or topics to ask to encourage discussions or like days dedicated to something, let me know! I've been mulling over trying to figure stuff like that out and am wondering if those sorts of things may even be interesting to folks
