Firefox becoming slow on start and then become normal by itself
When I start Firefox (Or Librewolf) they start lagging a lot in start but with time they start responding smoothly (in like 3to5 minutes). What
could be problem? How to fix that?
Edit : Do not know how but it is working now.
Edit2 : Experiencing Same issue again 😞 !!
You could try Menu -> Help -> Troubleshoot Mode. That will restart Firefox without extensions and such - if the problem then disappears, it's probably caused by one of them.
As said issue persists in all gecko browsers it being firefox, librewolf, midori, mercury or anything else.
SO it is issue with gecko or something?
Not by addons probably.
If you actually are using Firefox, you need to provide more information.
What kind of computer are you running?
What operating system and version are you running?
What version of Firefox are you running?
When did the behavior start?
What have you tried to resolve it?
I am an IT technician, I am no speciallst on Firefox or even web browsers, but I will give you a free tip, try a reinstall of Firefox, and if you are on a different browser based on Firefox, get the real version of Firefox, then you can compare the two.
Try a different profile instead. Type about:profiles into the URL bar and hit enter. In there, you can create a fresh profile and launch it. It will be like a factory-reset Firefox, but you can switch back to your current profile, to get back to all your current configurations.
One more thing I remember now.
I installed Gnome theme for FF.
But that was 2 months ago.
Then Theme was not rendering proparly and I removed it as per guide..
Facing issue from then,
BUT
It is on all gecko based and I removed .mozzila folder atleast thrice.
SO,That should not be a problem.
I am using Arch Linux on 2gigs ram and core2duo (It used to work well on this some days ago).
Arch is rolling release so arch linux 1.
Firefox version 126.0.
This behavior started a few days ago without any induction which I can notice.
I have reinstalled firefox.Removed all extensions.Removed .mozzila directory.Tried gecko browsers(They all behave same way).Tried non-gecko browsers (They work fine).
I use real version just tried others to see I face issue there or not.
Like as I am typing this after 30 minutes of browsing it is smooth but first 3 minutes feels like really slow on any gecko browser.

I have 128GB SSD and my system is installed on it.
2 gb ram and core2duo (It was working fine on it).
Issue is on all gecko browsers and not on any other.
A core2duo is a pretty old CPU (16 years old). Maybe its just the rest of the world moved on? Modern websites are much heavier than they used to be. Additionally you aren't going to be able to do video playback without a newer GPU. The older Intel only supports old encodings. Also gnome takes about 1.2gb which is most of your ram. You are probably swapping like crazy.
It sounds like this is just an issue of dated hardware.

I don't know what Librewolf default config uses, but Firefox has a lot of telemetry enabled by default. Maybe Librewolf has all of this enabled, too, and some of the pingback servers are slow?
