California Republicans look beyond Steve Garvey to lure voters. Their idea: Tap into crime fears

this has always been their idea. how is this a new idea?

In the last 3 weeks, I have personally experienced open drug use, a homeless man waving a sword, retail theft, sexual exploitation, gangs members threatening tourists and vandalism...all this in Fresno, Sacramento, San Francisco and Oakland.... I mean, I get that the Right likes to exaggerate about crime, but the Left absolutely underplays what's going on... there's some really bad areas in California..and no one seems to care.
