That’s a nice feature! I’m not sure about sending battery and cell reception info along with the check-in message but I guess it could be useful in some instances.
- It would likely only be going to friends and family, so I don’t see any harm in it.
  
  I always forget to text my family when I get home when they ask so I think this is nice.
