[WIP] Making an outdoor modular sectional

Using cedar 2x4s cut to 1.5x3. Planning to seal with outdoor polyurithane varnish. Any thoughts on the design thus far?

the pocket holes on the outside of the back leg kills me
- Don’t die. It’s a prototype and I’ll need like 7 of those. I cut two lefts rather than a left and right.
  
  Do you have other joinery gong on, or are those legs relying on pocket screws to hold the load? Is it going to stand up to the racking forces that chairs take?
Did you start from the cushion size as your base dimensions? I’m thinking about doing something similar and trying to decide on how to figure out the sizing.
- Yes, 24” x 24” seems the most common.
