[Mizuki and Caerula Arbor] Floor 3 Boss Mechanics

Preface

Unlike what you may be familiar with in IS#2, IS#3 only has three different Floor 3 boss stages. However, this does not mean there are only three Floor 3 bosses. IS#3 introduces variations in the possible Floor 3 bosses, or to be more explicit, there is now an Emergency version of each Floor 3 boss stage. Emergency boss stages have an extra line in their descriptions to distinguish them from their normal counterparts.

To be clear, this does not mean that all enemies gain increased stats like in regular Emergency operations; for Emergency boss stages, only the boss is replaced by a tougher variant, with slight changes in appearances as well. Technically, some stats are increased while others are decreased, but the second version of these bosses is generally tougher to deal with, changing something with the boss's Talent that may cause you to take a different approach to deal with the boss.

Now to focus on the similarities with IS#2. The boss stage you encounter is determined the moment you enter Floor 3, and you can preview the details to know whether it's an Emergency version or not, provided you don't have the Adaptation Call, obscuring this ability.

There is also a twin boss stage like in IS#2. The stage consists of the Tidelinked Bishop paired with either the Tidelinked Archon or Tidelinked Exorcist. There is no Emergency version of the Tidelinked Bishop. What distinguishes this twin boss from the pair from IS#2 is how you kill them. For IS#3, you have to kill the bosses within 20 seconds of each other, or you will end up in a perpetual cycle of the bosses dying and respawning.

Skill: Handcannon

  • Deals 200% ATK as Physical Damage to a friendly unit in range.
  • This skill consumes 1 Ammo.

Skill: Reload

  • After 2 seconds, replenish 1 Ammo.
  • Switch back to attack mode when Ammo is fully replenished.
  • If this skill is interrupted, this enemy switches to Attack mode and is stunned for 10 seconds.

Talent

  • Attacks deal Physical Damage.
  • Displays Ammo held; initial and max Ammo is equal to 3.
  • This enemy checks his own Ammo every 35 seconds. If no Ammo is detected, he switches to Reload mode.
  • Reload mode: This enemy does not attack or move, and continuously activates the skill [Reload].
  • When out of Ammo, perform only melee attacks.

Note: If this enemy is interrupted while firing his last Ammo, he won't perform any melee attacks.

  • This skill consumes 1 Ammo.

Skill: Reload

  • If this skill is interrupted, this enemy switches to Attack mode and is stunned for 10 seconds.

Talent

  • Attacks deal Physical Damage.
  • Displays Ammo held; initial and max Ammo is equal to 1.
  • This enemy checks his own Ammo every 35 seconds. If no Ammo is detected, he switches to Reload mode.
  • Reload mode: This enemy does not attack or move, and continuously activates the skill [Reload].
  • When out of Ammo, perform only melee attacks.

Note: If this enemy is interrupted while firing his last Ammo, he won't perform any melee attacks.

  • Attacks deal Arts Damage.
  • When HP reaches 0, this enemy recovers 2% HP over 0.1 seconds, and enters the state of [Fake Death].
  • [Fake Death]: Invincible, unblockable, does not attack or move. If the associated <Tidelinked Archon> or <Tidelinked Immortal> is also in the state of [Fake Death] or enters the blue box, this enemy is immediately defeated. Otherwise, it recovers 5% HP per second, and exits the state of [Fake Death] when HP is restored to 100%.
