Pura Luka Vega’s drag performance of the “Ama Namin” remix has gone viral since it was uploaded on Twitter three days ago.
Even if it was disrespectful, so what? Religions do not deserve respect.
Surely an all-powerful being can defend itself from a mere person?
Personally, I don't think it's disrespectful at all. I don't think anything was being mocked in that performance.
no need to respect whoever god they believe in, but be mindful and not ignorant of people's belief. it's too much to ridicule and make fun of one's faith.
This doesn't justify it. She knows for a fact that it will be very controversial and yet still pushes through. I'm gay and I was highly disappointed about what happened with Awra and this happened next.

I'm also sorry if you believe that being controversial should stop someone from acting on it. You know the saying that it only takes all the good people to do nothing for evil to win.
If I understood the situation correctly, the artist was trying to answer this question: What would Jesus, Who is known to reach out to the "lepers" of the society, do in a drag event if He were physically among us?
How would you answer that question? If you're gay (and maybe Catholic), I hope you won't imagine Jesus hating on the community for your own good.
