Genuinely, why was it made private? If it was one of the boycotts then it should've been opened back up by now. What's the purpose of keeping it private?
Also. It's very suspicious how the only post with positive upvotes is made by the mod. This entire thing is super sketchy, and the only way I can think to explain it is either the subreddit being hacked or sketchy moderation. Wilbur soot isn't even a mod, to my knowledge at least, so I am leaning towards the latter.
This isn't a hate post or anything, I am just genuinely curious and the lack of talk on the internet leads me to believe that it was either an unofficial subreddit or nobody realized.
Hey there! Lots of fair questions. Long story short it was closed because Reddit sucks. That's kinda most of it! It started with us being fed up with Reddit removing API access for our bots, and then their AWFUL response to any conversations. We were then threatened and we decided it would be best to move here. I made the subreddit, along with r/wilburmusic, waaaayyy back with some friends. It was never official to begin with although I did get the go-ahead from Wilbur to make it 'official' per se, and we are sootmods, some of us are also discord mods/twitch mods. Wilbur wasn't invited as a mod because tbh he's never asked and I keep forgetting to mention it.
For me, this was always a personal page/project we ran with friends and I've decided to move that at least partially off reddit. Wilbur wasn't bothered and none of the admins were bothered, it was just the natural progression of things.
We have both now, and I've handed over most of the reddit moderation to others.
