anyone else here miss the subreddits for co-op

Just saw the release date for the DLC and realized that I will 1000000% need help. Checked the progress of my most recent attempt at the game and saw I had 200 hrs in a single character and was only like halfway through. I want to start a fresh run before the DLC and hopefully get to a point where I can tackle it when it releases. I remember getting loads of help on Reddit when I was playing daily last year. I remember it being a great time and honestly insanely wholesome for reddit interactions.

Think there are enough of us here to make communities around co-op in Elden Ring and Souls games? I don't have any irl friends that play these games, so the social aspect of it with me was entirely online.

If there are co-op groups here that are active, lmk. I'm still struggling with searching for communities despite joining Lemmy the day the API protests started lol

  • Im a solo gamer but i miss the discussions about the lore and strategies. Sometimes the bosses would kick my ass so hard and for so long (looking at you commander niall) that i had to ask for new strategies.

I hope you find the help youre looking for. Ill be posting here when the DLC drops.

    • Thank you! I'm totally up for discussing lore as well. Elden Ring is by far one of my favorite games, even though I haven't actually finished it. I intended to ages ago, but life happened and I never really went back lol

  • I recently started a new character that I'm slowly building up. I beat the game close to release (and put in nearly 300 hours) but haven't played since.

And just like everytime I replay Bloodborne (my favorite of theirs), I don't remember the game being this hard! I played dual-greatswords guy last time, and jump smashing everything was super fun. I also had a sorcerer that got pretty far before I got bored. This character is going for an anti-paladin of the Flame, as that's the one ending I haven't gotten the achievement for yet!

    • I got pretty far in Bloodborne but then I broke my leg and was away from my PS5 for 3 months. By the time I got back home, my one coworker hyped up BG3 so much while I was laid up from my injuries that I bought it my first night back home lmao.

      • I haven't gotten around to BG3 yet, maybe if I end up in the hospital again myself! (knocks wood)

BB has the best opening act of any From soulslikes, but it kind of falls off in the middle and end. Those chalice dungeons... (Still, I'll be first in line when that 60 fps PC port comes along!)
