What do you feel is missing from modern Freemasonry, or what are some things you may have expected that you didn't see or experience?
My personal one is a chamber of reflection. I love the idea but as I understand, many GL's banned them, and some side orders may have them (wildly jurisdictional).
Two big ones for me, though I'm sure both certainly vary largely from lodge to lodge:
Drama in degree work. Related to CoR, I feel often degrees are regurgitated by rote in monotone. I think channeling our inner thespian can make the degrees more memorable and impactful.
Esoteric discussion in meetings. Tyled meetings are a perfect opportunity to speak candidly on the symbolism with others who may have powerful insights, but in my experience lodge business takes precedence. Even education presentations tend to be focused more on historical trivia than exploration of the work.
