Activists who successfully placed a recall on California’s ballot in 2021 and forced the Democratic governor to spend tens of millions are trying to oust him again.
Not all states support recalls. California kind of goes all in on the democracy thing with the ease of introducing ballot initiatives and recalls and such. It’s mostly fine, but it can also result in pretty stupid plays like this.
Certainly some. But unless there's been a massive change in circumstances or character (e.g. named in a criminal case, or turned against their supporters), you're unlikely to get results. The same people that voted them into office would have to vote them out. This goes against the entire premise of the incumbent advantage.
