5 0 ReplyWhoever is chanting from our section, I love them. "YOU JUST GOT YEIMARD!!"
5 0 ReplyAnd "you had one job" if I heard that right?
3 0 ReplyHa, thought i heard that earlier!
3 0 ReplyInstant legend.

As I've always said, our team is amazing on set pieces.
5 0 ReplyNico - Jackson - Chu both times, right? Seems like kicking it to the huge centerback may be a good strategy...
3 0 ReplyI thought I was the sarcastic one here.

How are you watching tonight? For me: on my phone, at a DubSea Fish Sticks game, then home for the second half!
4 0 ReplyAt home, on the laptop, because the TV room is in the middle of getting painted.
4 0 Reply
Lol, the broadcast just did the FT banner early.
4 0 ReplyThanks everyone for the inaugural match thread! I was a little worried I'd be in here by myself. But couldn't have picked a better match.
Hopefully the first of many and more to join as the community grows!
3 0 ReplyI love that chant "Cleveland Rocks!"
3 0 ReplyGreat save!
3 0 ReplyReally a luxury backup GK
3 0 ReplyYeah, I kind of hope he finds a team where he can play more. He's too good to sit on a bench. Depends how much longer Frei plays, I guess.
2 0 ReplyEmbarrassment of riches
1 0 Reply
That was some great distribution from Cleveland
3 0 ReplyMake-up red?
3 0 ReplyIn any case, it's there for the taking now
2 0 Reply
Have they ever experimented with Chu at forward?
3 0 ReplyNo, but I hope they done. There's no one better on winger than him right now.

Chú Chú!
3 0 ReplyHalftime stats per FotMob
3 0 ReplyLEO AGAIN!!!
3 0 ReplyWhat was I saying about set pieces?!
3 0 ReplyGlad to see the Sounders pull out the win!
3 0 ReplyWhat a wacky little chip from Rusnak to Chu
3 0 ReplyAB looks gigantic next to that ref
3 0 ReplyHeyyyyyyy
3 0 ReplyIf only we had another fast, dangerous winger to balance out Chu
3 0 ReplyIf only MLS obeyed the international breaks...
4 0 ReplyMLS can't make money off international breaks.
2 0 Reply
IM FIROUS AT HOW AMAZING THAT SAVE WAS!!
3 0 ReplyAnd then a nice last ditch clearance to deny Raul...
2 0 Reply
It's truly disgusting how much Vancouver seems to accomplish with such little possession.
3 0 ReplyI would say good counterattacking but that was just horrific defending. The whole spine of the defense asleep at the switch
2 0 ReplyAlex and Reagan just like “Yeimar won’t get boxed out of that header we’re fine”
2 0 ReplyJackson has to be better there
2 0 Reply
Look at that :)
3 0 ReplyI'm just going to post stuff and see if anyone shows up!
3 0 Reply
Saint Stefan the Younger!
3 0 ReplyChu’s ability to miraculously get by the outside back is very good
3 0 ReplyFUCK YEAH
3 0 ReplyYEEIIIIMMMMAAAAARRRRRRR
3 0 ReplyAnd three set piece goals to shut me up
2 0 ReplyThat brings up our total set piece goals this season up to .. 3?
1 0 Reply
Lineups posted. Alex gets the start. Go Sounders!
3 0 ReplyOh Nouhou. Such a good run on the counter. Such poor vision once he gets the ball
3 0 ReplyWell this was a fun thread y’all. Real “drinking in my living room” vibes with like 3 other people here 😂
3 0 ReplyFor sure, love the positivity
3 0 Reply
Not a bad lineup
3 0 ReplyEvery match I look at the lineup and think, "well, we're missing some players, but this lineup should be able to win!". But yet...
Here's hoping that Alex can take more advantage of the space that Nico leaves while roaming out of the right wing. I thought that the roaming Nico was actually working pretty well in the early parts of last match as Baker was staying much farther forward. Same thing when RBW came on late, but the final pass was missing. Maybe Alex's return is the missing link?

3 0 ReplyOh come on.
3 0 ReplyCome on, hat trick Chú!
3 0 ReplyOh Rusnak. Oh no
2 0 ReplyGood chance there - another great run by Chu and great delivery. That's a tough header from that far out. Nico would probably have liked that at his feet.
2 0 ReplyGreat save Cleveland!
2 0 ReplyI think the other way you get playing time if you're Cleveland is to shine when you get these chances and then move to another team. The Tyler Miller way...
2 0 ReplyAre the whitecaps missing any players to the Gold Cup like we are?
2 0 Reply- Ali Ahmed (M, Canada)
- Javain Brown (D, Jamaica)
- Julian Gressel (F, USA)

Damn Rusnak. Hell of a kick. He took out Yemar.
2 0 ReplyThat seemed like a fair yellow to me.
2 0 ReplySo close! Nice ball from Alex
2 0 ReplyAnd we're off!
2 0 ReplySo good from Leo Chu there to hold up, turn, and burn!
2 0 ReplyThat pass to chu was on... Nouhou couldn't find the weight. Same thing there from Albert. Seems like everyone just needs to take a deep breath and settle in.
2 0 ReplyOr Chu has been doing so amazing that they keep forgetting that he doesn't actually have lightning speed.
1 0 Reply
YEIMAR!!!!
2 0 ReplyHave we subbed anyone yet?
2 0 ReplyNope
2 0 Reply
Man. Wonder what our set piece plus/minus is this year. Cleveland had no chance there.
2 0 ReplyOur set pieces are always so bad. Even our corner kicks.
2 0 ReplySomeone even asked Schmetz about it in the last presser - Nico's propensity to hit the first man without fail. He was quite defensive. But we are so bad... I miss Mauro Rosales, and I'd like to see Albert or JP take even more.
3 0 Reply
Really good passing for a few minutes there. Nice drive by Rusnak but surely he can find Ruidiaz somehow there?
2 0 ReplyYeah - that was a missed opportunity but it's been a while since I've seen them take a patient, probing, approach to the buildup. More of that.
2 0 Reply
I'm watching with sound off... Is the argument on that hand ball that it was deflected? Seemed like his arm was away from the body.
2 0 ReplyThey didn’t really talk about it, the announcers were shocked
4 0 ReplyShocked that no foul was called.
2 0 Reply
Thanks both. Also saw Raul get cleared out in the box in that window too...
1 0 ReplyThere were two separate hand balls back to back on the Whitecaps. The ref didn't call either one, when they were clearly handballs. He didn't even go to review them on the monitor.
We'll be hearing from PRO next week about how they should have been called, I'm sure.

A little worried by no subs here... Seems like a tired legs incident leading to a goal waiting to happen. But I also can't think who I'd rather being on at the moment.
2 0 ReplyYikes on that corner too... Saved by the woodwork
2 0 ReplyI watched the replay twice. I can't even spot where he made contact for that YC.
2 0 ReplySame... phantom foul
2 0 Reply
Jingle bells!
2 0 ReplyI take back what I said about our corner's being Lame.
2 0 ReplyHey, I think we should take full credit for the reverse jinx.
2 0 Reply
Fuuuuuuuck
2 0 ReplyIf my foot is coming down, and you put yourself between my foot and the ground. It's my fault?
1 0 ReplyI think refs are trained to call that reckless for the sake of player safety, even if it’s purely accidental. I get it.
2 0 Reply
Other than instances like this, how does Cleveland get play time experience if Frei is always playing keeper?
1 0 ReplyI think ostensibly though other competitions like USOC or maybe Leagues Cup depending on how we approach it. But if we keep getting bounced from USOC in the first or second round, not a lot of chances.
2 0 Reply
Easily offside
1 0 ReplyThankfully... But another warning shot fired
2 0 Reply
Oh my goodness! Put it in the net!
1 0 ReplyI feel like he should have passed that. Ruidiaz and Chu both seemed to be in great positions to take that.
1 0 ReplyGauld would have made that shot.
1 0 ReplyWhat even is going on?
1 0 ReplyLET'S GOOOO!!
1 0 ReplyIt's amazing we have 70% possession.
1 0 ReplyThat's too bad.
1 0 ReplyThat was a beautiful run, beautiful cross, and beautiful shot. Just a shame it didn't hit the goal.
1 0 ReplyI missed the foul that led to that. Was that foul even warranted?
1 0 ReplyMissed it too
2 0 ReplyThe goal? Yeah I think nico fouled the guy.
