This is great. While private companies with great cultures can endure, Proton's long term resilience could be strengthened by implementing an employee ownership scheme such as a worker coop. That reduces the risks of exec management making unmitigated mistakes.
It's not foolproof, but the most stable companies I've worked for have had some hefty amount of employee ownership. They may not be a Microsoft or Amazon, but they know how to weather downturns and plan for a long running sustainable future. It's not a guarantee, but it's pretty much the dream for me
