Lionel Messi puts timescale on Argentina retirement
Speaking to Sport, Messi did admit that his Argentina career is unlikely to last more than two more years. Qatar 2022 was, at least in his mind, Messi’s last World Cup.
This was my last World Cup. I’ll see how things go, but not in principle, I won’t go to the next World Cup.

Probably better this way, go out on a high. As much as I would love to see him at another World Cup, the odds are that he won't defend the title cuz WC winners rarely manage to.
GOAT just needs to think about retirement, sad to see him end his playing career but he has won everything.
