Yesterday I tried to explain wet bulb to my family cause they’re outdoorsy and not used to thinking about dangerously hot conditions.
Did not receive the best response but at least they will recognize the term now.

Man, look at that jump. All graphs from this year have been like that and a similar timescale. North Atlantic sea surface temperature and Antarctic sea ice extent anomaly come to mind
