Ange hints at how effective Sheffield's disrupt-and-frustrate tactics were for a "we don't stop" Angeball team

Ange's comments are telling here. Heckingbottom wasn't just trying to run down the clock, he was trying to disrupt our flow. Break the rhythm and slow us.

We are known to train with intensity; the ball rarely allowed out of play. Angeball is flowing quickness.

Sheffield set about to disrupt and frustrate that.

It worked for 98 minutes.

  • I've seen outraged comments on Sheffield's time wasting even before they scored. But it seems their strategy was to try and break our flow from the start; to frustrate; to suffocate.

I feel ambivalent about their tactics. As an underdog, you have to respect Heckingbottom for identifying a weakness and exploiting it. But dark arts are not fun to watch. Just glad it wasn't us this time.

Sorry to everyone who had to endure us under Conte I guess.
