I'm gonna assume you've been exiled since 2014, since it is the year Meandering Towershell was first printed.
Regarding social media, the Fediverse is on the rise because Elon Musk bought Twitter and Reddit is killing 3rd party apps.
Regarding Magic, commander is now the main format, there's a new set every month, and you can play with Transformers.
