Hoshoryu managed to hang on for awhile against the bales. Almost seemed like he was gonna recover position out of sheer rage.
Oh yeah he had a good grip too up til the end! That was pretty skillfully done by Chiyoshoma for sure.
In other news, feelz bad that Shirokuma and Aonishiki lost...

The hand gestures between Onokatsu and Shishi were a little weird, right? And is that "bounce" that Shishi was doing at the start kinda uncommon? Maybe I'm reading into it, but it seemed like the officials' expressions were even more grim at the end. I wonder if he got a talking-to at the end of the day. Well, Shishi's in the tourney leader group with 4-1 tho.
Shishi definitely has a unique way of setting up before the tachiai. Not sure if it's against any rules but of course the sumo board doesn't generally like anything new.
Shishi does not quite move forward as much as other rikishi do, right? It's quite interesting and seems to work out well for him so far.

Agreed. But what's up with that little hand-wave that Onokatsu does at the beginning at like 0:30? He's not just putting his hand out, he's waving like dismissively. I don't think Shishi even saw it, but it was a little weird. I know if I went by someone and made that gesture they'd be like: wtf?
