These definitely give off more terminator vibes than the aerial drones.
Have we heard anything on the cost of these yet?
The ones at the beginning are probably >$100,000 USD, fully kitted.
You can buy similar commercial chassis for about one fifth of that. Control systems depending on whether they are intended for autonomous operation or remote control would be maybe 5-20k on top of that. I have no idea what the mounted weaponry in worth.
The real question is whether they are paying inflated military prices as is typical with US equipment, or building them in house at cost.
But still.. these can lurk in the greyzone
Absolutely, these can accomplish tasks that would be incredibly dangerous or impossible.
I imagine as they use these more and learn what works and doesn't, they'll be able to armor them better as well increasing their field capabilities
