What Kdrama do you recommend for a newbie?

Hi, so good someone made a community. I know nothing about Kdramas but I would like to watch some. What can you recommend?

I would like something cute and chill wit heart melting scenes. On the other end of the spectrum maybe some thriller with some fucked up plot? (thinking in terms of what I use to watch in Korean Movies, read OldBoy).

Thanks.

edit: I watched SquidGame.

  • Honestly, my favourite to recommend to a newbie is Crash Landing on You, or CLOY as it is popularly known. CLOY has a bit of everything - it has the cheesy and cute romance, comedic and romcom moments, has some thriller and action sequences, and has great production value. It's perfect to get a taste of kdrama cheesiness, in my opinion.

On the other end of the spectrum, I'll recommend Kingdom. It's a zombie action thriller set in historical Korea. Great action sequences, has some political intrigue which is common for historical Kdramas, and has insanely good production value. One of the best zombie thrillers I've seen.
