I use OsmAnd+ for off-road travel navigation. The amount of trails and accuracy of navigation is so good!
7 1 ReplyOrganic Maps is really underrated IMHO. I use it a lot for walking around town as well as on hikes.

FYI: OsmAnd+ has the ability to record GPX tracks and upload them to OSM. This is incredibly useful for creating accurate maps and add just satellite imagery offsets. As a mapper, it would really if a hiking trail has some GPS data so that the nodes can be aligned and improve the accuracy of the map.

I'm familiar with the GPX recording feature.
How can I upload them to OSM? I didn't see that info in the link you provided.
2 1 ReplyYou can use another OsmAnd plugin OSM-editing to do that. It's in-built, but you do need to activate it. https://www.osmand.net/docs/user/plugins/osm-editing#upload-gps-track
Also you could share the track internally in the phone OS to file browser to save it as named file on the phone memory. https://www.osmand.net/docs/user/personal/tracks/#export-track. Then upload it via osm website. https://www.openstreetmap.org/traces has generic upload gps track feature.
3 0 ReplyThanks! I'll keep that in mind
