According to larian they are working on two ips right now.
One is their own ip, one is not.

Tod let obsidian once. But also tod is now owned by phil so it might not even be his call.
Todd also learned that Obsidian did it better. Even if it was his choice, his pride would never let a famously competent developer make one of their games again. His pride won't let it happen.
