The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/dirtgrubrat on 2023-06-27 23:33:07+00:00. *** I posted here recently looking for fun cozy farm/ life sim recommendations, and this one didn't come up, I just came across it myself very it looks really, really cool! Gorgeous art style, a fun premise, some farming, some cleaning, some decorating and cute creatures. I'm considering getting it ( or else wylde flowers, which I know is really popular ) but since I haven't seen a lotof hype about it here I'm wondering if it maybe looks better than it actually is lol or maybe it isn't great on switch or something? any of you have opinions on grow: story of the evertree?

Story of Seasons: A wonderful life Steam version
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/alpacappuccino5 on 2023-06-27 18:54:09+00:00. *** Yes, I'm aware this just released. But has anyone had the chance to play the Steam version yet or even better, play it on Steam Deck?
I'm really tempted to get it but I have seen a few comments already that it does not really run on Steam Deck and is even laggy on PC. Also, those who claim it would work on Steam Deck were reffering to a video which shows footage of the game on the Deck but if you look closely it is really just a hacked Switch version running in an emulator.
So if anyone could share their experience with the actual Steam version that would be super helpful.

Farming sims with emphasis on raising animals?
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/itsmosttranquil on 2023-06-27 18:39:15+00:00. *** Hello! This community has opened my eyes to gaming - I'm a 30 year old woman who until now had only really played a few games to completion on my own. I am finally getting into Stardew Valley (I know, I'm so late) and I love it. My favourite part of the game is taking care of my animals and obtaining products from them (e.g., milk) to be used for other things (e.g., cheese). I just wish I could interact with them more! Are there any cozy games that revolve around taking care of animals (preferably farm animals but I'm open to others) and building relationships with them?
As a kid I played Zoo Tycoon and loved it. I have Planet Zoo but I found it really overwhelming. And from what I understand those are more like business management games (not sure if that's the right terminology). I really want to focus on taking care of and building relationships with animals. (This prob goes without being said, but this means no expectations to kill them!!!)
Thanks guys :)

The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/derailedthoughts on 2023-06-27 07:46:38+00:00. *** I love city builders, like SimCity, Cities Skyline, but I give up on them because of the traffic management. I understand that traffic is a core issue for in real cities, but it's a chore and I don't want to have to watch a 12 videos long series on YouTube just to build a functional city. Are there any games where it's still city building but with less emphasis on traffic (not no traffic management, just less)

Wyldeflowers really did it right
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/Trinkitt on 2023-06-26 12:32:27+00:00. *** So I’m not even going to lie here, I avoided wyldeflowers. I didn’t like the design, I didn’t really like the game description, I didn’t like that there was no kids, I didn’t like other factors (I don’t want to spoil). So I avoided it. Honestly the main reason I avoided it was because I couldn’t design my character - I didn’t want to be Tara. I would have still preferred character customization.
I ended up picking it up a few weeks ago and I’ve changed my mind. This game did it so right.
The farming is sort of limited, but the social system makes up for it. Typically I don’t even read what characters say, but I was so interested in what everyone’s story was that I was trying to get to know everyone.
I found the majority of the characters interesting. Their fleshed out backgrounds and natural/real life way of speaking was perfect. They were each distinct and didn’t just say something like “hi! See you later!” And the full voice acting was great.
Plus I appreciated so many little things. Like the animal petting animations. The animals actually look like they’re being pet and you’re not just rubbing the air. The animal animations in general are great.
I’ve never been wondering what to do in game, and usually by the end of the day I’m still not ready to turn in.
This game did so many things well, and I look forward to more from studio dry dock.

"Blue sky" games
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/Vulpes_Artifex on 2023-06-26 03:52:56+00:00. *** Recently I've been thinking about a term generally associated with Sega—"blue sky games", meaning bright and cheerful games, often set outdoors under bright blue skies, that make you feel both exhilarated and carefree, with the prototypical example probably being 1986's OutRun. Other examples include Sega's own Virtua Racing and Nintendo's Wave Race games.
While these games aren't exactly what I'd call cozy, the idea is adjacent enough that I thought it would be interesting to have a discussion about them. After all, like cozy games, one of their defining characteristics is their mood-elevating properties. So how about it? Do you enjoy that kind of game? Do you have any favorites?

The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/earth_to_ren on 2023-06-26 01:52:53+00:00. *** I just want to say that I love the story so far, the characters are very likeable, the voice acting is superb and I've gotten past the weird graphics HOWEVER, here's the thing:
I am bored. Very, very bored. I get that things are supposed to take time but what else am I supposed to do to fill out an entire day? With a tiny little stamina bar that depletes a couple of minutes of chores? I make it a daily habit of interacting with the townspeople everyday but nothing else is keeping me glued. I'm often finding myself putting Tara to bed at 11am just to move things along as there's nothing else to do. Drinking tea can only do so much. I'm still very early in game (Spring, close to Summer I think) so I really want to give this game a chance. Everyone seems to love it but at this point I'm only holding out for the story. So am I doing something wrong? Any tips for early game? What kept you playing?

What are your favorite questionably cozy games?
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/niradras on 2023-06-25 21:55:47+00:00. *** A lot of games are considered cozy when they actually have a lot of dark themes, spooky content, or combat. And it comes up a lot in the cozy community about what exactly a cozy game is. But everyone seems to define it in their own way and people get coziness out of some crazy stuff sometimes. Cult of the Lamb has tons of combat, Beacon Pines features a lot of dark storylines, etc. Dredge is one of my favorites, and I find it cozy despite the sea beasties that attack you.
So what are your favorite dark, scary, spooky, emotional, fighty, etc. games that you personally find cozy? Or any game that just generally might not be considered cozy, but you find coziness in it.

Long Form Games?
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/wonwoorideul_88 on 2023-06-25 21:52:38+00:00. *** This is my first time posting ( Hi👋🏻) and I'm hoping you guys can help with my cozy gaming problem.
Does anyone have any recommendations for long form (40hrs+) cozy games?
All the games I've come across recently seem really short (less than 5hrs) and of course there's absolutely nothing wrong with that but I enjoy stepping into an established world and knowing that I could play for hours today and tomorrow and the next day and still not finished the game (IDK why but the idea of starting a new game every week stresses me out, lol)
I own all the usual suspects: acnh, stardew, cozy grove, breath of the wild, dreamlight valley, octopath traveller etc....and I know I'm asking a lot here but I'm hoping you guys could suggest something different? I am hitting the hardest of walls and google is not helping 😭
I have a Switch and a Steam Deck because I prefer handheld for cozy games but PS recommendations are welcome too.
Thank you in advance for your help 🤍🙏🏻
Edited to add: I have looked through the 'recommendation' thread and noted some down but since I don't really have a specific genre that I'm looking for, I thought an open post would be easier and would pool more responses. Apologies if this is against the rules 🥺

Looking for a game with involved quests like Majora’s Mask
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/drleospacemandds on 2023-06-25 12:20:54+00:00. *** My favorite Zelda game has always been Majora’s Mask because of the intricate quests certain characters at certain times figuring out schedules and giving items in a certain order.
I have Aka, and just got Cozy Grove, have been a die hard player of Stardew Valley (coop mode so I can forego the skull cavern fighting and focus on villagers and animals) and Animal Crossing since GameCube days. I was just wondering if there were other games involving a lot of completing quests!
I am already planning to buy Yonder and Smushi Come Home as well. Thanks in advance to a wonderful community :)
Eta: I typically play on Switch with a strong preference to that but we have Steam and I am sure my husband would not complain overly much if I said we needed a new gaming console.

Trying to get into cozy games...
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/Anxiousanxiety94 on 2023-06-25 05:31:35+00:00. *** So I have gotten super into Disney Dreamlight Valley and I've been trying out some cozy games to see if I like more of them. I've played sims since I was a kid, and I recently got unpacking which I loved but finished it in a day. I also just got stardew but honestly, I hate it and feel like I wasted my money. Like the game play is OK and I could enjoy it, but the whole time and sleep thing is extremely stressful and the way the map and moving around is set up irritates me to no end. Like those aspects make it super not worth playing to me because it just gives me bad anxiety. I want to try animal crossing but after trying stardew I'm super hesitant now because I'm starting to wonder if these kinds of games are not for me because I hear it's similar to stardew. Any advice or recommendations?
Edit: forgot to mention I am playing on switch

Everyone's favourite farming/life sim?
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.
The original was posted on /r/cozygamers by /u/dirtgrubrat on 2023-06-24 21:45:42+00:00. *** Hey there! So, first of all, I really am not much of a gamer haha I have loved lots of very different games on different devices but I'm not like plugged in to the whole ~gamer world~ anyway, I love animal crossing and would like another cozy game to play on switch!
Soooo a bit of what I'm looking for — I don't really like very pixel-y graphics ( like stardew valley, sorry! ), I'd really like some nice scenery that's bright and pleasant, I'd like some farming going on and a little bit of life sim going on, I also would like something with a decent splash of decorating and customisation (: ideally something you can still have fun with even as you get to the "end" of the game. I don't have a big budget so I guess I'm just looking to buy one game 😅 however, I don't mind too much if it's a little bit price-y, providing it seems worth it!
So far I'm looking at Everdream Valley, The Witch of Fern Island, Wylde Flowers, Fae Farm and Story of Seasons! If you were to only buy one of these, what would you suggest? Or have any alternatives you like better maybe?
( I know some these aren't out just yet but these are the ones that have made me go 👀 )
