Microglial cannabinoid receptor type 1 mediates social memory deficits in mice produced by adolescent THC exposure and 16p11.2 duplication

www.nature.com Microglial cannabinoid receptor type 1 mediates social memory deficits in mice produced by adolescent THC exposure and 16p11.2 duplication - Nature Communications

Exposure to cannabis in adolescence is associated with increased risk of psychiatric disorders. Here, in a mouse model of 16p11.2 duplication, the authors identified a role of microglial Cnr1 for mediating the adverse effect of THC exposure on mPFC maturation and social memory.

Repeated low doses of psilocybin increase resilience to stress, lower compulsive actions, and strengthen cortical connections to the paraventricular thalamic nucleus in rats

www.nature.com Repeated low doses of psilocybin increase resilience to stress, lower compulsive actions, and strengthen cortical connections to the paraventricular thalamic nucleus in rats - Molecular Psychiatry

Psilocybin (a classic serotonergic psychedelic drug) has received appraisal for use in psychedelic-assisted therapy of several psychiatric disorders. A less explored topic concerns the use of repeated low doses of psychedelics, at a dose that is well below the psychedelic dose used in psychedelic-as...

Reducing the harms of xylazine: clinical approaches, research deficits, and public health context - Harm Reduction Journal

harmreductionjournal.biomedcentral.com Reducing the harms of xylazine: clinical approaches, research deficits, and public health context - Harm Reduction Journal

Objectives Xylazine has emerged as a consistent part of the unregulated drug supply in recent months. We discuss major domains of xylazine’s harm, current knowledge deficits, clinical and harm reduction strategies for minimizing harm, and xylazine’s public health and policy context. As an interdisci...

Psilocybin analog 4-OH-DiPT enhances fear extinction and GABAergic inhibition of principal neurons in the basolateral amygdala - Neuropsychopharmacology

www.nature.com Psilocybin analog 4-OH-DiPT enhances fear extinction and GABAergic inhibition of principal neurons in the basolateral amygdala - Neuropsychopharmacology

Psychedelics such as psilocybin show great promise for the treatment of depression and PTSD, but their long duration of action poses practical limitations for patient access. 4-OH-DiPT is a fast-acting and shorter-lasting derivative of psilocybin. Here we characterized the pharmacological profile of...
