The Trash Can Sinatras - Obscurity Knocks
It is a record sound source twitter https://twitter.com/ilove_indiepop
This is one of my favourite songs, yet I don't own any of their music, apart from the 7" single of Obscurity Knocks. I have def listened to the rest of the album Cake that this song is from and their other releases, via streaming, since then. The funnest fact I know about them is that The Trash Can Sinatras' Frank Reader, is the brother of Eddi Reader from Fairground Attraction. She married one of her brother's bandmates n 2013.

Do you like The Church? Curious (Yellow) was the band that was led by Karin Jansson, ex-partner of Steve Kilbey, and mother of two of his children. He gets credited for performing on this song, and others on the album it is from, Charms and Blues. He's also listed as the, "Producer, Executive Producer"
I used to own a cassette copy of Charms and Blues. It just occurred to me today to see if a video exists from back in the day and here it is.
Concrete Blonde - Joey
Music video by Concrete Blonde performing Joey (Digitally Remastered). #ConcreteBlonde #Joey #Vevo
In 90/91, you (I) couldn't escape this song. That's how I remember it, anyway. Re-listening to it, it's quite a nice tune.
The fun fact that I found out about Concrete Blonde, just now, is that their name was suggested by their IRS Records label-mate Michael Stipe.

Ratcat – That Ain't Bad
Having only recently eschewed "mainstream" music, I was surprised when this "alternative" Sydney band, that I quite liked, hit it real big (at least by Australian standards) by going to number one with the Tingles EP that this is the lead track for.
They were getting the kind of chart heart-throb adulation that was usually reserved for New Kids on the Block or similar. Of course, this was all quite galling, but at least I could enjoy some indie snobbery. I had heard of them before they got famous and could also appreciate the origins of the track My Bloody Valentine that was also on the EP!

The Plunderers - Christo
Music from Australia and New Zealand during the 1990's: The Plunderers' promo-video for the single 'Christo'. Nic Dalton's first band! ---------------------------------------- NZOZ NZOZ1990s 1990 Australai Early Nineties 1990's 1990s 90's 90 Extended Tags: Godstar, Hippy Dribble, Captain Denim, ...
This band was fronted by Nic Dalton who was bassist in The Lemonheads for a while. He also founded the Sydney indie label, Half A Cow.
This song is about the "New Realist" artist who, along with his wife Jeanne-Claude, liked to wrap large things in fabric…such as the Reichstag, Pont Neuf, Central Park and the coastline at Little Bay in Sydney.
At a press conference in Australia years later, the cultural impact of Christo's work in 1960s Australia surfaced in an unexpected way when a journalist at a press conference told Christo about The Plunderers' song. He whipped out a tape deck and played part of the song to the polite but slightly nonplussed Bulgarian-American artist.
The linked video documents this exchange and also includes The Plunderers' music video.
Nic Dalton tells his side of the story here.
