Pausing the SplatNet Daily Drop Posts

Just wanted to make a short announcement about pausing the bot's SplatNet/Daily Drop posts, for now.

In spite of the original poll results, it seems like these posts have fallen out of popularity and are causing the sub to get spammed up a tiny bit.

Based on a suggestion in one of the posts, I wanted to see if I could congregate the posts into a single one to try and reduce the spam a little bit, but I haven't really been able to find the time to work on that.

Always down to hear everyone's thoughts and input on what they'd like from the community, though, and hope everyone's having a super fresh Drizzle Season, so far!

It's always fun trying to categorise these posts!

I'm experimenting with putting some of the news content we post on here over on #Substack, so people can be notified of the freshest news directly from their email inbox.

I've just made an introduction post over there if you want to read it:

Wow, a lot's definitely happened over the past month-ish since this place was started up! We've gathered 500+ (505 right now) members here, already!

I love seeing your guys' posts and really appreciate everyone for participating and helping this place get to where it is! We might still be considered a fraction of some of the larger spots that've taken a bit more time to grow and get where they are right now, but it's still insane to me how rapidly everything's been changing and improving (plus you're all definitely a pretty awesome part of the fraction!).

Lemmy.World's had to experience some growing pains, too, having to deal with all the difficulties that come with using a service that's still largely in alpha/beta , and even being attacked by some bad actors a few times, but still pulling through it all and helping this place continue to exist!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being here and being apart of the community and I hope that I, and anyone who may be on-boarded in the near future, can continue to strive for and create a chill spot for you to hang out and connect over the funny squid game!

Have an awesome day and stay fresh!

Welcome to /c/Splatoon!

Welcome

Hey!

Whether you're coming here from r/Splatoon or discovered this place from somewhere else, I wanted to welcome everyone to the community!

At the moment things are still pretty new, but I'm hoping this can be a pretty chill spot to post and talk about Splatoon!

Banner/Icon

Even though the community already has a banner and icon setup, if anyone wants to take a whack at putting something together I'd love to update it!

Rules

Rules haven't really been set in stone, yet, but for the most part following lemmy.world's instance rules seems good, for now!

Mainly want to have them be more common-sense-driven and hopefully pretty easy to follow/understand.

Feel free to post whatever, but also marking anything that could be a little spoiler-y as NSFW and tagging with a [Spoiler] tag is probably a good idea, too!

Fediverse's Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse > Tldr; Fediverse/Threadiverse instances are pretty much just websites that can interact with each other. You have a main instance you can sign up, view, post, comment, and create communities on and if two instances find each other (usually via the search page), and haven't blocked one another, they'll mirror the data (minus login info) between themselves.

Either way hope you can bear with me, and stay fresh! くコ:彡
