it's crazy we've had super constant growth on the instance it seems my server can easily handle it and has been overall pretty snappy. I doubt I'll need to rescale it anytime soon, but it's nice my hosting provider makes it really easy if need be thank you everyone and have fun on the threadiverse ❤️🌐 \-ivy🏳️⚧️

I'm OK I'm ok it's good. we're federated so I guess that's all that matters and this instance is still pretty cool because kbin has a lot of nice features

hey everyone, if you've been keeping tabs on the internet drama you probably know about all of reddit shenanigans. when I first heard about the blackout I was really worried about loosing the 196 community and things like whenthe, r/traaa, and gay sounds shitposts so I decided to try and make an instance that could act as a central hub of sorts and try and keep these communities connected. it's really important that we bring these communities over to the fediverse if we want them to be resilient and I think this is the right step forward. I know things are still rough around the edges and there will be growing pains, but as the lorax said, "a tree falls the way it leans" reddit and corporations will always lean to enshitification but for once we have something that leans the right way if this is going to work, we need as many people as possible to start switching over and we are going to need your memes. lots and lots of memes. if we all get on board we can make this work with this post I would like to officially announce fedi196.gay is up and ready for open registration
