^ From source 1 of those: "Nutritional deficiency of zinc may affect nearly 2 billion subjects in the developing world."
^ From source 2: "During pregnancy, zinc deficiency causes a number of anomalies: spontaneous abortion, pregnancy-related toxemia, extended pregnancy or prematurity, malformations, and retarded growth... Zinc supplementation has already proven beneficial in male sterility and in reducing complications during pregnancy."
Shilajit: with large doses (1g+) of sketchy brands / not well processed types, there's a risk of heavy metal contents, so be careful with what you buy.
PS. Just in general, it's also good to take a multivitamin and fish oil. You gotta eat the equivalent of a serving or two of fish three times a week in order to meet the recommended amount of fish oil, I think, and most people don't reach that...
I have been using shilajit over the past several days and have actually experienced enough of a subtle boost in energy that I have not been able to sleep well. (Waking up at a normal time even having slept late.)
The past 2 nights I had given myself 8+ hours sleep opportunity, yet I still slept lightly, woke up multiple times in the early morning, and had a lot of dreams (REM sleep). I think I didn't get much deep sleep, so I still felt tired.
I am going to go without shilajit for a while, repay my sleep debt, and try again.
Shilajit is a great mood booster, unfortunately doesn't work for me. It gave me involuntary timpani muscle spasms all day. Also, this sub is very inactive. Are SR practitioners not on Lemmy just yet?
Yes I'm not seeing many practitioners here so far, but hopefully they will come. I have not been active either as I'm trying to minimize screen time. Thank you for the comment, shilajit is very potent so I don't use it often, sorry to hear it has not worked for you.
