It’s a swipe action. Swipe the comment to the left a bit and the comment icon should show up.
Yep and just to note. There is currently a bug it seems where if you swipe too far, the gesture will have no effect. Instead swipe just a bit to reveal the symbol and it should work.

Swipe with my right thumb, and then screenshot buttons with my left hand. 😂
