Oh I thought he got more annoying after they let him on the crew and he turned into a know-it-all Mary Sue. But it's also been a while since I've watched lol.
Yeah he didn't get especially insufferable until the magic space Native Americans invited him to a higher plane of existence for being such a special boy™.
He definitely warms up to him. I'd recommend "Final Mission" s4e9
